How I train
copyright crossfiteast 2006 For a total of less than 3 matches a year, fewer than 40 minutes of fight time. I work out twice a day, five times a week, minus my rest days…I throw 125 lb balls against the wall, run with wheelbarrows full of rocks, spar wrestle etc. Chuck Liddell (Crossfitter )

Service

Merely wearing a uniform and reporting to work is not enough. The title of warrior is earned over a period of time through consistent attention to one’s craft, sustained effort, attention to one’s duties, AND in the service of others.

My Good Name
Good name in man and woman, dear my lord, Is the immediate jewel of their souls: Who steals my purse steals trash; ’tis something, nothing;

‘Twas mine, ’tis his, and has been slave to thousands:

But he that filches from me my good name Robs me of that which not enriches him And makes me poor indeed.

“You can talk all you want about being in good shape until you do a few CrossFit workouts, and they you will realize – like I did – that what you have been doing is likely training strong points, rarely working on weak points, and training efficiency to such a degree that the workouts you do are less effective than they might be if you mixed energy modes, duration, and types, of work.”

Do not let your fire go out
copyright crossfiteast 2007 Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish, in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours. Ayn Rand ____________________________________________________________________________
The trouble-makers
copyright crossfiteast 2007

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round heads in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do. ____________________________________________________________________________

Consider This:
.copyright crossfiteast 2007 Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense. This day is all that is good and fair. It is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on yesterdays
